PNBRI will launch its inaugural flagship report, “The Realities and Prospects of Sustainability among Oil Palm Smallholders in Malaysia.”
This publication is the result of nearly two years of in-depth research, rigorous data collection, and stakeholder engagement across Malaysia, with a particular focus on independent oil palm smallholders.
The report synthesises insights from over 30 interviews, focused group discussions, and a nationwide survey involving stakeholders across the value chain, including government bodies, plantation companies, NGOs, certification standards and bodies, and smallholders themselves.
The launch will mark a significant milestone in PNBRI’s mission to provide evidence-based research that informs policy and industry practice. It also reflects the collaborative efforts of researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and smallholder communities in shaping a more inclusive and comprehensive narrative for Malaysia’s palm oil industry.
